John R. Savelli

John R. Savelli, age 70, born on June 6, 1953, passed on June 24, 2023.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Rosedale in Queens, NY. John later moved to Florida in 1974. He is predeceased by his parents, Rudolph and Mary Savelli. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy, Son John N. (Tracey), daughter Kristie (Christopher) Licht, son Joseph (Nashyia), brother Rudy and grandchildren Annabella, Cross, Mia, John Rocco and Kaprice.
John met Nancy in 1970 and married a few years later. They soon started a family and there was nothing he would deny his children. Whether it was taking them to dirt bike racing, hunting, fishing, back and forth to numerous sporting games or dance, John was always trying to make them smile. John was an auto mechanic by trade due to his love of muscle cars including his 1969 Javelin. His prized possession was his 1968 big block Chevy Camaro that he rebuilt himself. John loved to enter car shows and was especially proud of finally winning "Best of Show" at Busch Gardens. He loved spending time at his hunting cabin telling stories with friends and family over the years. As time went on, John picked up a few new hobbies. He purchased a boat to go out with family where they made more memories. He took his shot at metal detecting regardless of the fact he found about $2.59 with the top-of-the-line metal detector. He took another shot at riding a 3-wheel motorcycle and would ride along with his best friend Pat. After that, he bought a fifth wheel to start traveling with Nancy. John would love to talk football, especially the Bucs, to just about anyone who would listen. His greatest accomplishment was being called "Papa". He loved each one of his grandkids to the fullest.
John always was there to lend a helping hand to anyone who would ask, no matter how big the favor was. John never said no and took great pride at being a dependable friend.
John will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His stories will be told for years to come.
