John Scherle

John Scherle Sr., born on May 6, 1931, in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. He was the youngest of twelve children born into the Scherle family, where he learned early the values of hard work, faith, and devotion to family.

John shared an extraordinary 73 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Hennie, with whom he is survived by. Their life together was a true partnership, marked by love, resilience, and countless shared memories.

He was a proud and loving father to Glenn Scherle, John Scherle (Elaina), and Robin Hill (Scott), as well as a devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. All of whom brought him immense joy as family was always at the heart of his life.

John made his career working as an engineer at Twin Cities Testing, where he retired from after 33 year.

Known as a great friend to all, John had a warm and welcoming spirit. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and remained close to extended family throughout his life. His kindness, generosity, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Ramsey, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church starting at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment will follow the service.
