John Patrick Schwindt, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born on March 30, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey, and lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love.

From 1961 to 1967, John proudly served his country in the United States Navy. During his service, he was awarded the Antarctic Service Medal, a testament to his commitment and courage in the line of duty. Following his military service, John went on to build a long and respected career as a licensed electronic technician with Motorola, where his knowledge, steady hands, and strong work ethic left a lasting mark. Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, John will be remembered most for his love of family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Schwindt; his children, Sherl Merceron and her husband Neal, John P. Schwindt III, and Richard Schwindt; his cherished grandchildren, Laura Merceron, Deven Schwindt, Christopher Merceron, and Kyle Schwindt; and his great-granddaughter, Claire Schroeder, whom all brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Schwindt, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who loved him dearly.

John's legacy lives on in the countless memories shared with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep devotion to those he loved, and his enduring sense of duty and honor. His wit, often expressed through a gentle and sarcastic humor, reflected both his warmth of heart and his deep affection for those around him. WA2OTP will be his forever legacy! A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. John's family will hold his memory close in their hearts forever.
