John Cage Scott, III, born on February 24, 1952 in Jackson, MS, passed away on September 4, 2023 in Florence, MS. John was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He was known for his kind heart, strong faith, and love for his family.
John had a deep passion for studying the Bible, particularly the book of Revelation. He also enjoyed small wood crafting projects. Above all else, John treasured the time he spent with his family. Especially watching college football when his beloved MS State BullDogs were playing. John's face would light up whenever he was surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind beautiful memories that will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John is survived by his loving children: Jacob Scott (Amanda), Danielle Scott and Shon Scott (Jessica), He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He was preceded in death by his parents John Cage Scott, Jr. and Ida Ruth Scott, sister Patricia Beard, and brother Richard Fortenberry.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring John's memory at the Ott & Lee Funeral Homes- Brandon located at 1360 W Government St in Brandon, MS on September 9th, 2023. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
A graveside service will follow at Lakeland Place Memorial Park, located at 6004 MS-25 in Brandon, MS at 11:30 AM. It will be a time to reflect on the life of John Cage Scott, III and celebrate the impact he had on each of our lives.
John Cage Scott, III will forever be remembered for his unwavering faith and unconditional love for his family.
