Billy Wayne Vanderford, a master electrician, was born on May 6, 1938, in Corinth, MS. He departed this life on November 23, 2025, in Pearl, MS. Billy was known for his warm personality and ability to bring joy to those around him. He was a man who loved fishing, camping, and watching westerns, and he had a knack for making people laugh with his comical spirit.
Billy had a deep passion for antique cars, enjoying both collecting and building them over the years. His love for Cruising the Coast was something he cherished, sharing many joyous moments with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Faye Dunn Vanderford, along with his children: Michael Vanderford (Sheila), Johnny Vanderford (Mary), Donna Vanderford Williams (Eddie), Jerry Vanderford (Lisa), Kelvin Vanderford, and Mark Wayne Vanderford (Megan). He leaves behind a loving sister, Beulah Crain, and brothers Ed Vanderford, Rufus Lee "Fuzz" Vanderford, and Donald Vanderford (Susan). The legacy of love continues through his 15 grandchildren, Kruze, Diamond, Nicole, Walter, Mollie, Lauren, Morgan, Kristen, Somer, Jaidyn, Kollin, Abby, Skyler, Rocky, and Corbin; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his first wife, Imel Vanderford; his father, Rufus "Pat" Vanderford; his mother, Virginia Evelyn Rorie Vanderford; his stepson, Shannon Netherland; and his siblings, Marie Burke and George Vanderford.
A visitation will be held on November 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Puckett Baptist Church, located at 6400 MS-18, Brandon, MS 39042. Funeral services will start at 12:00pm at the church with burial to follow in Puckett Cemetery.
Billy Wayne Vanderford touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
