Pat Vanderford, 88, of Boiling Springs, SC went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 22, 2025. She was a native of Lynchburg, Virginia. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Rev. Billy Vanderford. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Griffin and Margaret Doss Griffin Petty.
Nanny Pat was adored by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved them all and they all knew it. She served as a Pastor’s wife alongside her husband, Rev. Billy Vanderford for 46 years. She was an extraordinary example of what a Pastor’s wife should be. She always showed grace and love to their church members and was ready to help anyone that asked. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Children’s Church Director (which was her passion), and Ladies Axillary Leader. She was a faithful member of Parkway Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving children; Gary Vanderford (Jackie) of Boiling Springs, SC, Donna McDowell (Ron) of Inman, SC, and Sheri Crocker (Ronnie) of Gaffney, SC. She was “Nanny Pat” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren that were so precious to her; Grandchildren, Amanda Caldwell (Terry), Brittany McDowell, Brad Vanderford, Cassidy Perry (Bradley), and Jake Crocker (Karsyn); Great Grandchildren, Breyden, Kooper, Jacob, Kinsley, and Isla. Her Brother (the apple of her eye), Harold Lee Griffin (Nancy) and their daughters, Christie Brinton and Connie Jenkins. Her special cousin, Maxine Dean.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 – 11:45 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Parkway Free Will Baptist Church – 3615 Parris Bridge Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29316.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm at the church, conducted by the Rev. Mitchel Edge and Rev. John Lee. Burial will follow in Union Memorial Gardens, 1720 Whitmire Highway, Union, SC 29379.
The family will be at the home of Gary and Jackie Vanderford located at 305 Silhouette Trace, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 on Friday, November 28, 2025, after 2:00 pm.
Ms. Pat loved flowers and her church. As an option to flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Free Will Baptist Church or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home https://regionalfoundation.com/ways-give/online-giving/hospice.
