John William Scullin, 70, known to his friends as "Bass,' passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, March 28, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center following a five-month illness.

Bill was born on Dec. 19, 1955, at Community Hospital in Sunbury. He was the son of the late Robert B. Scullin and Sally (Kerwin) Scullin.

He graduated from Shikellamy High School and attended Penn Tech College. After completing his education, Bill began working with his father at Scullin Oil Company.

In 1993, Bill became a shareholder and vice president of several family businesses, including Scullin Oil Company, Scullin Mechanical, Short Stop Mart, Flood Zone Car Wash and Rea Rent Inc. He remained active in these roles for 23 years until his retirement in 2015.

Bill had a deep love for the outdoors and recreation. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and boater, and he especially enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was a member of Susquehanna Valley Country Club, Spring Lake Country Club, Sunbury Grouse Club, Sunbury Social Club, the Elks, East End Hose Company, American Legion Post 44, Shamokin Dam Fire Company and several other local organizations.

Bill is survived by his fiancée, Dr. Kavann Busshaus, of Selinsgrove; his daughter, Kellie Camire, her husband, Jason Camire, and their children William and Elliot of Gray, Maine; his daughter, Bridget Liot and husband Patrice of France; and his grandchildren, Jacob Swineford, of Selinsgrove and Brittany Swineford, of State College.

He is also survived by his two brothers, Robert and Patrick, and his sister, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Scullin Moyer.

There will be no public viewing. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
