John Joseph Seckel Jr.

John J. Seckel, Jr., of Munhall, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of 56 years of Carolyn J. (Williams) Seckel; loving father of Robert (Mary) Merritt; adoring grandfather of Nathan and Zachary Merritt; son of the late John J. and Edna (Colson) Seckel; brother of the late Charles "Charlie" (Jean survives) Seckel; and cherished uncle of Lisa (William "Temple") Haynes, Charles "Chuckie" (Leslie) Seckel, Jr., and Rachelle (David) Florian, along with their families, all of whom he loved dearly.
John proudly served in the US Air Force, and was a dedicated member of the Rotary Club, two-time recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Medallion, and Narrator of the Munhall Community Band. He loved the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers, and was an avid fan of dirt track racing. He worked in Broadcasting on the radio and television as an on-air personality for various stations before selling vehicles later in life at Ron Lewis Automotive.
