John "Jack" J. Sennett III – age 86, beloved husband of the late Carol A. (Murphy) Sennett died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Sunny Acres Legacy Care Assisted Living Memory Care in Chelmsford with his family by his side. His family truly appreciates the extraordinary care and empathy he received from the staff there as well as the staff at the Chelmsford Crossings Assisted Living.
He was born in Boston, March 31, 1939, a son of the late John J. Sennett Jr. and Ruth (Glen) Sennett and was raised and lived in Dorchester before moving to Billerica 59 years ago.
Jack had served in the National Guard and was a member of the Billerica Knights of Columbus. He was employed as an Engineer at Polaroid having worked for 34 years prior to his retirement in 1999.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Sousa and her husband John of Chelmsford, Susan Farmer and her husband John of Billerica and Kathryn Sennett and her husband David Hudson of Nashua, NH; his brothers, Glenn Sennett of N. Conway, NH and Walter Sennett of Chelmsford; his sister, Ruth Sennett of Billerica and his five grandchildren, Sean, Cate, Erin, Connor and Olivia.
A special thank you to Bud, Thelma and Richard for the friendship they developed with Jack over the years at Sunny Acres.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 10 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. His burial will take place at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack's name to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org
