John Henry Sharpe, Jr., was born on January 25, 1974 to John H. Sharpe, Sr and Annie Ward Sharpe in Pitt County, NC. He departed this life on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Durham, NC. Born and raised in Greenville, NC, Jr attended Pitt County Schools and graduated from North Pitt High School in 1993. He later studied welding at Beaufort Community College. Known for his love of music and his gift on the drums. Jr brought joy wherever he went. His smile could light up any room, and his ability to connect with people meant he never met a stranger. He especially loved children and was deeply loved in return. Throughout his life, Jr worked in a variety of roles, including with the City of Durham. He often credited his strong work ethic to the men who came before him. Jr was preceded in death by his father, Deacon John Henry Sharpe; his son, John Henry Sharpe III; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Jr leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Annie Sharpe; his siblings, Darrick Sharpe, Ann "Liz" Sharpe, and Amy Sharpe-Jack (Donald); his children, Bobby Joe Bunn, Jonathan Emmanuel Sharpe, Tabitha Danielle Sharpe, and Tobias Antoine Muse (Erica); and his youngest daughters, Sa'Niya and Jordynn Sharpe, born from his union with Shemika Sharpe. He will also be fondly remembered by his nephews, extended family and countless friends who loved him dearly. Jr's life was a testament to love and laughter. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
