John, age 84, joined his wife in Heaven on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He was a resident of Hammond, LA. John was a devoted parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he served for 20 years as a radioman and COB (Chief of Boat) aboard submarines. After retiring from the Navy, he spent 18 years with the Merchant Marines as a radioman, dedicating his life to service at sea. In retirement, John found joy on the open road, taking long drives and road trips with his family, never missing a chance to stop at every Stuckey's he passed. Family was always his highest priority. He was the heart and leader of family gatherings and was especially known for cooking Sunday morning brunch, a tradition cherished by all who shared his table. His faith, service, and love for family will be remembered always.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Fitzgerald (Bruce); sons, Lenny Dubuisson (Cyndi), Danny Dubuisson (Tami), Kenny Dubuisson; daughter-in-law, Reba Dubuisson; grandchildren, Stephanie (Devin), Melissa (David), Leonard III, Christopher (Amelia), Christian, Ronald Jr. "DJ" (Mandi), Lacey, Karen, Kenneth (Elizabeth), Bruce Jr. "Junior", Mikca; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Aiden, Dominic, Carson, Mckenzie, Dallas, Riley, Avery, Jasmine, Kycen, Rixton, Lynnlee, and Izaiah; and many nieces and nephews.
