John Barry Simms, 78, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed peacefully with his family by his side Thursday, August 1, 2024.

John was born December 15, 1945, to the late John and Mary Simms. After High School, John met the love of his life, Concetta Catalano. They wed November 16, 1968, and were married for 55 wonderful years. Together they shared two daughters, Jennifer and Shelley.

John retired after 30 years with the WSSC. He had a passion for coaching softball, so much so that he coached for 3 different schools. He loved landscaping and being outside, bingo, bowling, and every once in a while, sneaking a hotdog at games.

John is reunited in heaven with his parents, Mary and John.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Concetta, his daughters Jennifer (Kenneth) Wilkes and Shelley (Jeffrey) Reinoehl, his grandchildren Abigail and Kenneth (Jr.) Wilkes, Hailey (Chance) Porter, and Shawn and Ashley Reinoehl . He is also survived by his great grandson Beckham Porter and his sister Margie Panagoulis.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at Lee Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with funeral services following on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 10am. John's final place of rest will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, cancer.org/donate or P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741
