Mr. John B. Sims, 77, of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Freeman Hood Funeral Services has been entrusted with his care.
Mr. Sims is preceded in death by his father Glover Sims; mother Emma Dean Sims; sister Ann Beasley; and brother James E. “Jimmy” Sims.
He is survived by his wife Janice Lynn Sims; daughter Angela Sims Saldana; son Bryan Sims & wife Evelyn Guthrie Sims; grandchildren Dylan R. Bridges, Austin R. bridges, Faith Sims, and Hope Sims; great-grandchildren Kohlar Cade Bridges, Walker Bryant Bridges, and Jayda Auburn Sims.
Pall Bearers will be Wayne Howton, Sawyer Prescott, Dylan Bridges, Chris Prescott, Donnie Woodard, and Danny Woodard.
Honorary Pall Bearers Don Woodard, Larry Walton, Joe Fowler, and James Lindsey.
Services: Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Sam Hood Memorial Chapel, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Guthrie Cemetery. Roy Prescott and Dewayne West will officiate.
