John Richard Singletary, 77 of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Born on October 26, 1948 in Charleston, SC, Rick was a son of the late Mary Lucille Reeves Singletary and Guilds John Singletary.
Rick was a member of the Masonic Lodge in North Charleston and Goose Creek. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was a minister of hospitality for 18 years. He loved jigsaw puzzles, his family and his dogs. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandson.
Rick worked at Garco and Raybestos Manhattan in North Charleston and Southern Manufacturing in Charlotte, NC for 40 years.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Singletary Burnor; and brother-in-law, Jim Burnor.
Rick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Claire Singletary; children: Rebecca Singletary Shelton (Scott), Kristina Singletary, and Ryan Singletary; grandchildren: Riley Shelton, Leah Shelton and Samantha Shelton; brother, Michael Singletary (Diane); nieces: Karen Altman and Jennifer Newton; and nephew, Aaron Singletary; his Uncle Carlyle Singletary (Peggy) and various cousins; close family friends: Jamee & Keith Pounds; and his beloved family dogs: Cooper, Ricky, and Abby.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026 at McAlister-Smith in Goose Creek.
