Of East Eden, NY, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 1, 2024. John is survived by many cousins and great friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John J. and Grace (nee McClenathan) Skrzypek, Sr. and a dear sister, Myrna Skrzypek. John worked for Eden Central School in the Maintenance Department, retiring with 31 years of service. He was a dedicated member of the East Eden Fire Dept for more than 47 years, where he made many friends in the department and the community, due to fire service activities. In 2022 he was recognized and honored as Fireman of the Year. John belonged to the Eden-North Collins Gun Club, and he enjoyed hunting, working on his cars and loved his canine companions. Friends may call at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, 21 Pierce Ave. Hamburg, NY on Friday, Nov. 8th from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 8175 E. Eden Rd, East Eden on Sat. at 10:30 AM. Please assemble at the church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to the East Eden Fire Dept.
