He was born on January 18, 1950, in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late Kenneth Smith and Audrey Stepp.
John was a devoted father, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for family, and the steady presence he provided to those around him. He found great joy in spending time with his children and extended family, and he valued the simple pleasures in life.
He is survived by his loving children: Ashley (Michael) Smith, and Ken Smith, Paul (Carol) Smith, Amy Brietinger, Tonya (Chad) Baker, and Ryan Mullins. He is also survived by his siblings: Leroy Smith, Larry Smith, Jim Smith, Charlie Smith, Leonard Smith, and Pam Prichard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Smith and Jeanie Dotson.
John's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7th from 2PM to 6PM at the Sons Of Herman, 416 Orange Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44095. (front entrance of the building up stairs.)
