Wilbert F. Armstrong

Wilbert F. Armstrong, 83 of Lacarne, OH died Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at his home under Hospice Care. He was born July 19, 1942 in Ironton, OH to the late Berton Lewis and Pansy Luella (Krumm) Armstrong. On October 23, 1959, Wilbert enlisted and served proudly in the United States Navy, completing 2 tours during the Vietnam War. In 1967 he married Marietta Bataan, and she survives. Wilbert retired in 2000 from Whirlpool in Clyde, OH where he was a supervisor. Wilbert enjoyed fishing, golfing, gambling, and Ohio State Football.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marietta of Lacarne, OH; children: Andrew Armstrong, of Lacarne, OH, Christina Warren of Jacksonville, FL, and Jennifer Armstrong of Pooler, GA; grandchildren: Jordan Warren, Rebecca Warren, Nicky Herrington Jr., and Dallas Herrington; great-grandchildren: Julian, Jazzlyn, Jada, Pasley, and Shea. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Alberta Mullens, Emma Fall, Patricia Fox, Lillian Finken-Brown, Doris Armstrong, Martha Smith, and Cassius Armstrong; and great-grandson Axel McDermott.

The family will receive friends and family Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1-4pm at their home, 5560 W. Superior Street, Lacarne, OH 43439. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fisher House Foundation, www.fisherhouse.org. Burial will be held privately in a National Cemetery to be determined.
