We are saddened to announce the passing of John E. Stage at home on May 22, 2025.
John was a proud native of the South End of Albany, growing up in a time when life was simpler. John is predeceased by his father, John Stage and his mother Elizabeth Fink Stage. He leaves one sister behind, Elizabeth Anderson with whom he enjoyed visiting at her residence.
John leaves behind his companion of 20 years, Linda MacDougall. A daughter, Shana with whom he shared and raised with Paula Leitch-Stage. He also leaves behind his grandson Quinn, with whom he was proud of. John leaves behind many friends from the early days, as well as friends he's made in the more recent years.
For 25 years, John lived his dream of creating and promoting The Famous 50's Cruz-In car shows. His shows started out small, but grew to include hundreds of cars and live music acts. John always considered his friends from the cars shows, also to be his "family" and loved to talk about the good times at the shows.
John loved animals and leaves behind his two dogs, Lucy and Penny, both who were with him until the end.
We will miss his funny stories, his heart of gold and his dedication to his life's dreams. John will continue to live on in our memories and dreams and will be greatly missed.
