John Thomas Stebe was born Oct. 31, 1948 to parents Paskey and Adolph "Dusty" Stebe. He was raised in Northeast Minneapolis. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School, and continued onto college. His career included working for Bud's Mobil, Burlington Northern, bartending at Dusty's and many years as an auto mechanic at Northside Lincoln Mercury, and Quality Lincoln Mercury. Any one who enjoyed knowning John would picture him golfing, fishing, hunting or just enjoying life. He especially loved his beautiful flower gardens and the birds and wildlife that surrounded their home. He shared his life with his beautiful wife Nancy for 36 years and had fun competing at golf almost daily in retirement. He had 4 holes-in-one compared to her 3. WINNER! He was known for never asking for help, but would always be the first one to volunteer his help and advice. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Paskey and Adolph Stebe and his father-law Gene Grunewaldt. He will be remembered with love by his wife Nancy, brother Pasquale (Jodi), and many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Funeral Chapel, 2610 - 19th Avenue NE, Minneapolis on Monday, September 29, 2025. A sincere thank you to all the staff at Minnesota Oncology for their compassion and care.
