June,
You and John have been on my mind lately, and I wanted to belatedly express how grateful I am to have grown up down the street from two of you. You both have taught me what it means to be a good neighbor. Wishing you peace, warmth, and comfort as you remember John this holiday season.

All my love,
Carter (Snyder-Samuelson) Baxter

Dear June, I'm so sorry for your loss. Cousin John's passing left me with a strong sense of loss. I remember your wedding with John and can still picture our grandmother and grandfather being present. I'll always remember John's sense of humor and, yes, levity. As someone else wrote, John would tell it like it is - a trait prevalent in the Steiner family - and I would add in John's case....with warm humor and a sense of caring. John was a stand-up and sincere soul who did things the right way. Growing up, I perceived him to have a strong sense of family; he always projected a warm sense of respect toward my mom and our family when he was present.

I wanted to offer my sincere condolences to the Steiner family on John’s passing. Jane and I had a great friendship during middle school and your family was like a second home to me...thank you for your love and kindness. Having lost my father in March, I empathize with your loss. Mrs. Steiner - keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

The good ole days. From snowmobiling to laughs at each others homes. I remember as a kid the fun we used to have. Then we meet up again in Schnecksville. I will always remember my walks passing your home and stopping to talk about the past or how everyone is doing. I will remember John's wit and funny stories with his laugh. Always told it like it was.

You are in our hearts and prayers to you and your family.
