John Stombaugh

John "Jack" Stombaugh, 82, passed away on July 11, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on January 7, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to Thomas and Zoellen Stombaugh. Jack was a beloved figure known for his kind-hearted nature and amiable personality.

Jack completed his early education at St. Ann's and graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School. He furthered his education at the University of Toledo, which laid the groundwork for a successful career. Jack began his professional journey at the General Electric Credit Corp. as an area manager, where he met his first wife, Jan, and the mother of his two sons. His career path led him to the Kroger Company, where he served as a store manager across various locations before advancing to a buyer of non-food merchandise in Detroit.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and his second wife, Beverly.

He is survived by his sons, Jason (Karin) and Thomas (Dawn); grandchildren, Logan and Ethan; siblings, Jim, Sally Landon and Peggy Donahue; and his longtime friend and partner, Aileen Briggs.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held at a later date. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, and his dedication to his family and enduring friendships.
