John "Stoney" Stone

John L. "Stoney" Stone, age 80 of Lovelady, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at his home. He was born December 17, 1943 in Crowell, Texas to parents, Louis Henry Stone and Nancy Lena Lewis Stone. He was a graduate of Crowell High School and received his Bachelor's degree in Forestry from Louisiana State University. John was a retired Forester and owned and operated Stone Timber Company for many years.
John is survived by wife of 57 years, Brenda Gale Stone of Lovelady; children, Todd Stone and wife, Rhonda of Lovelady, Shannon Campbell and husband, Tim of Lovelady, Craig Stone and wife, Bonnie of Porter Springs; grandchildren, Luke and Tilr Stone of Georgetown, Katelin and Cullen Lee of Crosby, Hayden and Taylor Campbell of Lovelady, Ethan and Shalyn Campbell of Teague, Zack Stone of Porter Springs, Aaron Stone of Marlin, Rustin Stone of Waco, Cy Stone of Waco; great-grandchildren, Jhett Stone, Ellie Stone, Adalynn Lee, Tatum Campbell; sisters and brother, Marilyn Ainsworth and husband, Joe of Electra, Curtis Stone of Amarillo, Ruth Donges and husband, Randy of Dalhart. He was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Nancy Stone; sister, Dorothy Mullinax; brother, Thomas Stone.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Center Hill Cemetery with Rev. Scott Matthews officiating.
