LEACHVILLE - John Mark Stone Sr., age 60, of Leachville, passed from this life Sunday, April 20, 2025, at his home. Son of the late Ray Leon and Nellie Louise Merritt Stone, he was born in Manila and was raised in Leachville. He was a 1983 graduate of Leachville High School and was a lifelong Leachville resident. John was a salesman at Tucker Appliance in Jonesboro and was of the Church of God faith. John loved fishing, golfing, playing basketball, playing pool, coaching his sons in youth baseball and basketball, and riding backroads with his dog Roscoe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Carl Stone, Jim Stone, and Tommy Stone, 4 sisters, Linda Staggs, Kathy Jones, Gladys Snow, and Barbara Stone.
Survivors include 2 sons, Mark Stone of Jonesboro and Jameson Stone of Leachville; a daughter, Bridget Dogan of Leachville; four brothers, Jerry Stone, Larry Stone, Clarence Stone, all of Leachville, and Tony Stone of Powhatan; two sisters, Brenda Stone of Leachville and Naomi Brewer of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Rowan Wayne Stone, Drew Dogan, and Daxton Dogan.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

John was the best of people always happy and full of life. If you were blessed by knowing him then you had to love him. John will remain in my heart 4 ever. Deep sympathys for his family especially Brena you grief must be heavy ya were so close. John if you are watching over everybody down here tell Dad I said hi. And my heart is just so sad that you had to leave to early.

My condolences to the Stone family...John was a great friend and a great person to all...Clarence and Larry Stone are also very close personal friends...I hope John has a nice place in heaven, and he has a nice TV in heaven to watch all of the Cardinal and Razorback games,,,RIP John...I'm sure Roscoe will be taken care of, and I know you will miss him until he reunites with you in heaven...
