John Addison Strickland, 62, of Cedar Grove entered into Heavens Gates at Hidden Valley Nursing Home, Oak Hill.
Born April 21, 1963 at Hampton, Virginia, he was the son of the late Elvin and Elsie Strickland.
He loved to play his guitar and harmonica, he loved his family and friends, but most of all he loved going to church and being a faith servant of Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Massey.
Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Louie Strickland (Monica), Randy Strickland (Peggi), Jose Strickland (Misty), and Jenny Strickland (Brock); several nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and a special niece, Julie Strickland whom they shared lots of laughs and fun times together.
He will forever hold a special place in our hearts,he will be truly missed, and he is loved so much by his family and friends.
In keeping with John's wishes, he will be cremated, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
