John Struck, Jr. Obituary

John R. Struck, Jr., age 73, of Barhamsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by love and leaving behind a trail of memories as warm as the grill he so often stood behind. John lived a life full of laughter, good food, and great company.

He was born in Pittston Pennsylvania to John and Mildred Struck and was raised in DuPont, Pennsylvania where he attended Pittston Area High School. John graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Spring Garden College in Philadelphia.

In 1986 John moved to Virginia where he pursued his second career as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Peak Performance in Williamsburg. In his twenty-two meaningful years of work there his kind heart and steady humor helped countless patients get back on their feet-literally. After retirement, he traded therapy sessions for travel with his wife Jeanne, long bike rides, cookouts, and the simple joy of hanging out with his loyal dog, Monti.

John was the kind of man who could turn an ordinary afternoon into a good time, whether through a perfectly grilled jalapeño popper, a well-timed joke, or an encouraging word.

John's life was rich in the ways that matter most-friendship, laughter, and love. His spirit will live on in every sunny day spent outdoors and every moment shared over a meal with friends and family.

John is survived by his loving wife and companion of 40 years, Jeanne Struck, his sons Jared Struck and Christopher Fehr, eight grandchildren; Aubrey, Bella, Christopher, William, Catherine, Anthony, Samuel, and Daniel and his two sisters; Mary Collins and Donna Pernot.

A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Olaf Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
