John Stump Sr., age 79, passed away on March 4, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born on September 13, 1945 to Robert Stump and Ruth (Yountz) Hawley in Warsaw, IN. He graduated from Pierceton High School in 1963. John dedicated much of his career to serving as a fuel delivery driver for C&P Oil Company before retiring, having worked with several other companies throughout his life. He fell in love with Terri Pitman and they were married in Clunette, IN on November 11, 2000.
John was known for his warm personality and his deep love for his family. He treasured moments spent with them, including the laughter and joy that filled their gatherings. John was a passionate bowler, participating in various leagues at The Bowling Alley, and he also enjoyed spending time on the golf course. Even in his leisure, he found comfort in watching his favorite western TV shows.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Terri Stump of Warsaw, and his children: John (Rebecca) Stump of Kimmell, Todd (Dawn) Stump of Cromwell, Louis Stump of Warsaw, Tina (Craig) Streby of North Webster, Daleen (Jeff) Mast of Warsaw, Misty (Tyler) Simerl of Winona Lake, Charity (Dustin) Cordill of Leesburg, Marlen (Brenda Reiff) Waldridge III of Warsaw, and Keith Waldridge of Warsaw. His legacy of love continues through his 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. He is also remembered by his siblings Robert (Annette) Stump of Pierceton, Amos (Beverly) Stump of Chesterton, Eddy (Val) Hawley of Lake, MI, and David (Sharon) Hawley of Saginaw, MI, as well as by those who held him dear in their hearts. John was preceded in death by his parents, and two daughters, Jean Hopkins and Brandy Busz.
A Life Celebration Visitation will take place at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN 46580 on March 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM with son-in-law Craig Streby leading the service. John will be laid to rest at Leesburg Cemetery following the service.
