John Alan Tabb, 66, of Sale City, GA, passed away on April 14, 2022, at Willson Hospice House.
John was born on June 12, 1955, to the late Jesse and Doris Collins. He grew up in Albany, GA and graduated from Tennessee Military Academy. John was the owner of J.T. Paint Contractor for thirteen years and later became an Engineering Technician at Booz Allen Hamilton. He was a former member of Albany Lodge # 24 F&AM and Hasan Shriners.
John was a beloved husband, father, “Pops”, and friend. He will be remembered mostly by his witty personality and big heart. He always had the ability to make you laugh or bring a smile to your face. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting, fishing, working on cars, and spending time at the beach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian C. Tabb and his brother, Charles D. Tabb.
Survivors include: his wife, Tammy Tabb of Sale City, GA; his children, Robert A. Tabb, Clint J. Tabb, Caitlin R. Tabb, and Courtney K. Washington; his stepchildren, Preston Maier, Ryan Hatcher, Josh Hatcher, and Brooke Hatcher; his sister, Esther Ann (William “Butch”) Hays; his grandchildren, Ansley Tabb, Alayna Tabb, Gauge Tabb, Emily Tabb-Heard, Selena Tabb, Brian Tabb, Wyatt Tabb, Sunni Tabb, Zander Tabb, and Aeson Welch.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 2:00PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Ross Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
Those desiring may make donations in memory of John to Shriners Hospitals for Children c/o Hasan Shriners Transportation Fund, 1822 Palmyra Fund, Albany, GA 31701.
