Mr. John Louis Thomas
Aiken, SC – A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brancie Stephens officiating. Mr. John Louis Thomas, age 72, entered into rest on December 24, 2024 at his home. He was born in Andrews, SC to the late Mr. John Thomas and the late Mrs. Hattie Howard Thomas. He was the husband of 49 ½ years to his loving wife Mrs. Nancy Porter Thomas. He made Aiken his home for the past 50 years. He had many hobbies such as fishing, riding his jet skis, and camping. He enjoyed music and played the guitar, banjo, and keyboard. He loved being outdoors and tinkering in his shop. John was a handy man and could fix anything. He loved his dog Max, and his family and friends. John will be missed by all who knew him. Additional survivors include: one son David Michael Holmes, Charleston; two daughters Christian Holmes, Beaufort and Crystal (Cody Beard) Thomas, Aiken; one brother John “JT” Thomas, Timmonsville; two sisters Kathy Thomas Bell, and Peggy Moore, Andrews; four grandchildren Grace Douglas, Matthew Garr, Emma Wetmore, and Megan Holmes; three great grandchildren; one niece Katherine (Danny) Keith, his honorary son Jimmy Thomas, Sally, and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son John “Chance” Thomas; four brothers, Bobby Godwin, Roland “Bubba” Thomas, Eugene Godwin, and Jessie Godwin and one sister Evelyn Turner.
