John Edward Thompson

John Edward Thompson, age 61, of Manila, passed from this life Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his home. Son of Shirley Thompson and the late John Tom Thompson, he was born in Dearborn, Michigan, and raised in Monette, Arkansas. He was a truck driver for PTI Transportation and was a member of Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church. John loved spending time at home with his family.

His wife of nearly 16 years, Marie Thompson of the home

2 sons, Nicholas Carmichael of Monette and William Carmichael of Manila

1 daughter, Rebecca Holt (Dennis) of Leachville

His mother, Shirley Thompson of Monette

1 brother, Chad Thompson of Monette

1 sister, Ruth Ann Hill of Monette

4 grandchildren Ayden Hill, Kayden Holt, Camille Carmichael, and Olivia Holt

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Parker, Gavin Parker, Jeff Brown, David Wright, Chris Hill, and Andrew Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Puckett, Larry Puckett, Jim Honnoll, Tony McCoy, Coy McCoy, Randy Kisner, Scott Simpkins, Trevis Wineinger, Jesse Vaughn, Keith Staggs, and Christopher Nipper.
