John Irvin "Johnny" Tidd

 

Mr. John Irvin “Johnny” Tidd, 59, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Ellaville Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Ellaville City Cemetery.  The family will greet friends beginning at 2:00 PM until service time. 

Mr. Tidd was born May 12, 1964 in Americus, GA to Joseph I. and Louise McGill Tidd.  He enjoyed fishing and was an excellent carpenter.  Johnny loved his family and spending time with his grandboys.  He also enjoyed hunting arrowheads and watching NASCAR.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two wives, Patricia Underwood Tidd and Ramona Tomey Tidd.

Survivors include his mother, Louise Tidd of Ellaville, GA; three children, Geni Leigh Dufresne and her husband, Danny of Groveland, FL, Randi Tidd and her fiancé, Brandon McCord of Ellaville, and John Tidd and his wife, Rhiannon of Ellaville; seven grandchildren, Landon Aldridge, Matthew Dufresne, Reid McCord, Brayden Tidd, Jaid White, Bentley Tidd and Isaiah Thompson; and a brother, Joey Tidd of Lakeland, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Ellaville Baptist Church, Building Fund, PO Box 325, Ellaville, GA 31806.
