John F. Tierney, 63, of Tewksbury, MA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
John was born on April 1, 1962 in Worcester. He grew up very close with his siblings, Dave and Jayne, and his large extended family of cousins. He graduated from Union College, where he earned a degree in Political Science and was an avid member of Delta Phi fraternity and the Union rugby team. He spent much of his life as a sales representative for Boston Micro-Components, his own company, that he founded and built from the ground up. John was a lifelong passionate fan of the New England Patriots and spent his spare time fishing, boating and hunting with friends. He looked forward to his annual family trips to Truro, Cape Cod and Florida. John was known for his love of pranks and making people laugh wherever he went.
He was the glue that held his family and friends together and will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity and thoughtfulness.
John is survived by his wife Debra Tierney of Tewksbury, MA daughter Shay and partner Jenny, both of Berlin, Germany, his sister Jayne Tierney and her partner Jamie of Shrewsbury, MA, nephew Payden Tierney, his wife Kate and their son Kian of Parker, CO, nephew Cameron Blondin and his partner Leah of Worcester, MA, and niece Lauren Blondin and her fiancé Tyler of Wilmington, NC. He was preceded in death by his father E. Jay Tierney, mother Gayle Tierney, brother David Tierney and niece Haley Tierney.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation to pay respects will be held on Wednesday, October 1 from 4-7pm at the Tewksbury Funeral Home.
While flowers are appreciated, the family kindly asks that those who wish to honor John, consider making a contribution to the American Heart Association to support ongoing heart health research and education. Donations may be made in his name at www.heart.org/donate.

John´s love and personality made us all want to be around him and he will be sooooo missed. I am praying for us all to be strong and to comfort each other, as John would. He would probably even crack a joke, when the time was right. I miss his chuckle already.

He was a great guy and great fisherman. I will miss his smile on our trips to Belgrade Maine.
