John Tindell, 89 of Hudson FL died Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the home of his granddaughter in Big Lake, MN.
John was born November 14, 1935 in Rockford, IL to Clinton & Catherine (Wiezorek) Tindell. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1957. He married Mary Ann George on June 1, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockford, IL. He worked in sales for Mott Brothers Plumbing & Heating in Rockford for many years until his retirement. He is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rockford. John was very patriotic; he loved working in his yard and garden and took great pride in how it looked. He enjoyed spending time coaching little league baseball and golfing in his golf league. He liked to hunt and fish and watch college sports, especially basketball and football. He loved to watch his Chicago Bears and Cubs. John was a family man, and especially loved to spend time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Tindell, daughter, Deborah Griert-Merriner both of Hudson, FL; sisters, Holly Zuleger of Wausau, WI; Karen Marty of Hot Springs, SD; grandchildren, Jonathan Griert, Jessica Lindquist, Richard McDevitt, Joshua McDevitt, Jacob Griert, David McDevitt, great grandchildren, Dominic, Colton, and Logan Lindquist, Bentlee, Maverick, Grace, and Elijah McDevitt.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife in 2021, infant daughter, Tammy, daughter, Laurie McDevitt, sisters, Pat Miller, Ginny Graves, brothers, Richard "Dick" Tindell and Bobby Hocking.
