Waybright Funeral HomeJohn D. Tolley, age 69, of Pickerington, Ohio passed away March 1, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1956 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late John Frederick and Betty Ann (Poling) Tolley. He graduated from Ripley High School in 1975 and later moved to Columbus, Ohio. In 2018 he retired from the Kubota Tractor Corporation after 35 and a half years of dedicated service. He was a company guy and bled orange. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt, fish, garden, and spend time at his cabin in West Virginia. He looked forward to annual beach vacations and watching Mountaineer football. John is survived by his wife of 43 years Bonnie (Bates) Tolley; children Zach (Randall McKenzie) Tolley and Kyndall (Albert) Smith; grandchildren Jayden, Emerson, and Payton Smith. He loved his family and enjoyed four wheelers, pool time, and basketball with his grandkids. John was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and battled with extraordinary grit and determination until the end. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to support research at the Leukemia And Lymphoma Society (bloodcancerunited.org) or The James Cancer Hospital (cancer.osu.edu). Family and friends may visit 4-7:00pm on Thursday, March 12, at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, OH 43147. A second visitation will be held 4-7:00pm on Saturday, March 14, at the Waybright Funeral Home, 511 Church St. S., Ripley, WV 25271
