In Loving Memory
Yes—
It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of John Tranello, a man of warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith, who left us on May 19, 2025 at the age of 84.
John was a spirited soul, a steadfast believer, and known for his kind nature and unwavering love for his family. John made it a point to call his loved ones every week to check in, share a moment of connection, and remind others that they were cherished. He was a man of faith, grounded in his love for God and the many friends who were drawn to his gentle disposition, humor, and open heart.
A true free spirit, John once moved to New York City on a whim — a decision that captured his adventurous soul and passion for life. He lived boldly and beautifully, always dressed in his signature dapper style. Whether walking the streets of the city or sitting around Mary Jane’s kitchen table, he carried himself with positivity, grace, and authenticity, but never took life too seriously — a rare and beautiful balance.
He is survived by his brother, Augustus Tranello and sister, Diane Popowych, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held at the Chapel of Peace at Riverside Cemetery on Thursday June 26, 2025 from 1-2pm, located at 2650 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612. Interment to follow.
John’s memory will live on in the lives he touched, the love he shared, and the faith that guided him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
—Have a blessed day, God bless you, and I love you. Ciao!
