John Tripi Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vander Plaat Funeral Home - Wyckoff on Aug. 19, 2025.
John Tripi, 72, of Ridgewood, NJ went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2025. Born in New York City, John lived a full and remarkable life that touched countless hearts around the world.
John is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 31 years, Angelique Scott, and their two children, Keith and Kim Tripi, who were the greatest joys of his life. He is also survived by his six siblings-Chris, Laura, Patricia, Joanne, Nancy, and Teresa-as well as a wide circle of dear friends, including George, Billy, Matt, Joe, Pastor Kevin, Pastor Rod, Pastor Steve, Ed, Judd, Ola, Bob, Dan, Ken, Mike, Gary, and so many others who cherished his companionship.
A man of extraordinary talent and determination, John wore many hats throughout his life. He was an accomplished carpenter, craftsman, magician, salesman, painter, roofer, musician, and even a boogie board maker. He proudly served as a police officer and later worked in real estate and mortgages. Beyond his professional pursuits, John's greatest calling was his ministry. As a pastor, minister, elder and usher, he faithfully served churches both in the United States and abroad, including missionary work in Haiti, where he shared his deep faith and helped lead many people to the Lord.
Above all, John will be remembered for his warm heart, humor, loyalty, and gift for connecting with everyone he met. He found joy in conversation, laughter, music, and above all, in sharing God's Word. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Matthew 25:21 - "His Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter now into the joy of the Lord"
A service will be held on Saturday at 11am at the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, 183 Godwin Ave, Midland Park NJ 07432. After the service a celebration of his life will be held at 12pm in the fellowship hall with food and music.
