John "Blackie" Albert Trotto, age 86, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
John was born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Rose Marie (Rizzo) and Frank Trotto. John graduated from Salesianum School in 1958. After high school, he went on to join the United States Army where he served honorably for 4 years. He worked most of his life as a cement mason for the local union where he made many friends along the way. In retirement, John went on to work at Rose's Italian water ice which he loved. He enjoyed watching the Phillies and adored his companion of 20 years Franny Irwin.
In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Trotto and son, Stephan Trotto. He is survived by his loving companion Franny Irwin; daughters and their spouses, Theresa Price (Walter), Tracey Trotto-Milloway (Austin) and Kelly Campbell (Jeff); and 6 grandchildren he loved dearly, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Ross, Teal, Walter II, and Danielle.
Funeral services for John will be held privately.
