Nancy Trotto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chiampa Funeral Home on Feb. 10, 2026.
Nancy M. (Culver) Trotto of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life rooted in devotion-to her family, her community, and a lifetime of service.

Born and raised in Shrewsbury, Nancy was a proud, lifelong resident of the town she cherished. She was the only child of Chester and Helen (Morrissey) Culver and graduated from Major Beal High School in 1955. In June of 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, Michael A. Trotto Sr. Together they shared 59 beautiful years of marriage, celebrating their final anniversary in 2016, just six months before Michael's passing.

The beloved matriarch of her family, Nancy was a devoted mother to five children: Michael A. Trotto of Rutland and his life partner, KayBeth Weibel; Ricky D. Trotto of Shrewsbury; Bruce R. Trotto and his wife, Shelley, of Jefferson; Linda E. Trotto of Webster; and Stephen P. Trotto and his life partner, Bob J. Wiggin, of Shrewsbury. She was a proud and loving grandmother-affectionately known as "Gigi"-to Robert J. Walker and his wife Vanessa of Shrewsbury; Daniel J. Walker and his wife Abigail of Framingham; Shonna N. (Walker) Bocsi and her husband Sandor of Auburn; Stephanie L. Trotto and her life partner, Conall Mannion of North Adams; and Kingsly of Jefferson. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Norah and Alice Walker, Colton Walker, and Charlie and Mikey Bocsi. In addition, Nancy is survived by extended family members including Eric Haglund, his wife Emily, and their children Esben and Etta, along with dozens of nieces and nephews.

Nancy found her greatest joy in time spent with her large family and many dear friends. She loved to travel and go boating and especially treasured summers at the former family home in Hyannis, Massachusetts. She delighted in life's simple pleasures-strawberry daiquiris, trips to the casino, playing Nintendo (the coolest grandmother ever), and her unwavering love of Pepsi and chocolate. She was also a huge New England Patriots fan and Boston Red Sox fan!

Deeply committed to her community, Nancy devoted much of her life to civic involvement and volunteer service. She worked at the former Shrewsbury Town Hall in Shrewsbury Center and served as a Shrewsbury Town Meeting member for several decades. She proudly held leadership roles as President of the Shrewsbury Women's Club, President of the Daughters of Isabella, President of the Friends of Glavin, President of the Shrewsbury Women's League, and President of the Bay State Chapter of the Antique Truck Club of America. She also generously gave her time as a den mother for both the Shrewsbury Camp Fire Girls and the Shrewsbury Cub Scouts. Professionally, Nancy enjoyed a long and successful career as a travel agent and cruise specialist for more than 30 years, helping countless families create unforgettable memories.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the entire staff at Whitney Place Assisted Living and Salmon Hospice for their compassionate and dedicated care in her final years, especially Jim Priest and Debbie Dezutter, whose kindness and support were invaluable.

Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy's life during calling hours at Chiampa Funeral Home – The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, on the Common in Shrewsbury Center, on Sunday, February 15th, from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 16th, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury with a motorcade procession past Nancy's home.
