John D. Trovato, 89, born on December 24, 1935 of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 14, 2025 at his daughter's home in North Syracuse. John proudly served as a fireman with the Syracuse Fire Department for 24 years, where he was recognized with the Team Valor Medal for saving a life during his career.
Outside of his service, John loved spending time on the golf course and was a longtime member of the Links at Erie Village Golf Course. He was a devoted husband, father and a loving grandfather who never missed an opportunity to support his grandchildren in their many activities. He loved traveling with his family and his weekly trips to the casino
He was predeceased by his parents, Rosario and Frances (Fishera) Trovato; two brothers, Nick (Theresa) and Joe (Connie) Trovato; and two sisters, Mary (Anthony) Scala and Frances (Dick) Mollica.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Angela (Sperato) Trovato; children, Maria (Michael) Lisi and John Trovato, Jr. (Kenisha); grandchildren, Jessica, Alessandro, and John Lisi and Dominic and Dillon Trovato; sister, Helen (Ernest) Perrotti; and several nieces, nephews and Cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 18th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Rd., Liverpool. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 19th at 9 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
