John Ernest Trueblood, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 25, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa he was the son of the late Myron and Velma (Stockberger) Trueblood.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharron Hoffman and son-in-law, Richard Hoffman; Three step children Elaine, James, and Brad Hummel; three grandchildren Rick, Katie and Michael Hoffman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Clarke) Trueblood, and daughter, Elizabeth Anne Trueblood, as well as his sister Sharron (Trueblood) White and a brother-in-law, B. Tucker White, Jr.
John graduated in 1958 from St. Stephen’s High School in Alexandria VA. He received his B.S. in Biology from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA in 1961.
John later went to work as a Purchasing Agent for an animal research company before moving on as a business owner of an antique store and a gift shop. He became a docent at the Museum of the Shenandoah in Winchester, VA where he was able to combine interests of working with the public, history, and antiques.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to auctions, playing tennis, and collecting antiques.
His Quaker faith was very important to him in his life.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later late.
