John H. Tuman (Jack) passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at age 86 surrounded by family and friends. Born September 8, 1938 in the Olney section of Philadelphia, he attended St. Helena grade school, and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in 1956.
Jack married the love of his life, Margaret (Peggy) A. Tuman (Chapman) in 1963. They had two children Bonnie (Grassey) and John E. (Jack). He was a proud "Pop Pop" and cherished that role for six grandchildren Danielle (Ringenary), Samantha (Custodia), Allison, and Nicole, Julia, and John (Jack), and four great-grandchildren Declan, Addison, Maisie and Sophia. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Bob) Tuman.
After school, he served as an Army Reservist in the auto mechanics pool and later joined Steamfitters Local 420, where he worked actively for over 30 years before becoming part of their alumni association.
Jack enjoyed cooking and learning new things. He loved doing puzzles and cryptograms, reading the newspaper, and sharing toast and coffee with Peggy watching television. He was an avid Eagles and Flyers fan and always looked for a reason to gather with his family. He loved sitting down and talking to everyone and hearing about what was going on in their lives, and swapping stories comparing how things were "back in his day".
In his later years, nothing brought Jack more joy than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His face would light up whenever they entered the room. He treasured every moment with them playing, laughing, and joining in on their favorite video games, coloring activities, or just watching them laugh and learn.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday April 24, 2025 from 10am to 10:45 at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham PA. Funeral Mass will follow at 11am.
Interment will be in St. John Nuemann Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of working with Jack,as a fellow Steamfitter. He was an excellent mechanic and I enjoyed his company. He was always smiling, and I'm happy to see he lived a full life with God blessing him with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rest easy, brother, you will be missed.
