John J. Tvrdy, 90, of Waverly, Neb., died September 3, 2025, in Waverly surrounded by family. He was born on May 20, 1935, in Ceresco, Neb., to Thomas and Maurice (Mara) Tvrdy.
John is survived by his children (spouses), Rhonda (Wally) Hughes, Kathy (David) Molinaro, Jody (Scott) Fischer, all of Lincoln, Neb., Douglas (Julie) Tvrdy, and Kevin Tvrdy, all of Waverly; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, June (Wilson) Tvrdy; his parents; daughter, Deborah Foster; grandchildren, Melissa and Mikey Hughes; and brother, Thomas Tvrdy.
Viewing, 12 to 8 p.m. (family present, 6 to 8 p.m.), Thursday, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln, with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6120 Morrill Ave, Lincoln. Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park.
The family kindly requests that Masses be offered for the repose of John Tvrdy's soul. Memorial donations may also be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where John was a long-time parishioner.
