John Gilbert Ureste Sr.

John Gilbert Ureste Sr., 77 of Seadrift, Tx, passed away on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his wife and family. He served in 2 branches of the military: Navy and Coast Guard for 10 years, in which he did tours in Vietnam.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara Ureste, and his brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Adela Ureste, sons John Gilbert Ureste Jr, and Michael J. Ureste; his five daughters Margarita Ruppelius, Irene Barrientes, Veronica Bundrick, Maya Ureste and Precious Alired. They also raised their grandchildren Adrian Galvan, Ronnie Camacho, Celeste Miller and Coridell Camacho along with their great grandchild Amaya Stringo. He is also survived by his sister Bobby Clara Carrera, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home in Port Lavaca from 10 am to 1pm with a Service to begin at 1230pm. Burial to follow at Seadrift Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Adrian Galvan, Ronnie Camacho, Blake Bundrick, John Barrientes, Adam Miller and Oscar Medina Flores. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be John Gilbert Ureste Jr., Michael J. Ureste, Albert Barrientes Sr., Steven Ruppelius, James Bundrick, Michael Odell, Henry Vaclavik, and Jeffery Allred.
