Lucy Vasquez Ureste passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Saturday October 18, 2025, at the beautiful age of 79.
She was born in Somerville, Tx on December 13, 1945, to Theodosia Martinez and Lorenzo Vasquez Sr., one of 8 children.
A woman of deep faith in the Pentecostal church, she enjoyed singing for Jesus. Lucy enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodosia and Lorenzo Vasquez, infant son Robert, sister Simona Selio, brother Angel M. Vasquez, brother Charles M. Vasquez and sister Mary Jesse Vasquez.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 57 years, Raul Montañez Uresti, sons Raul Ureste, Jr and Daniel Ureste (Christina), and daughters Ann Marie Ureste and Letisha Ureste. Three brothers Domingo M. Vasquez, John M. Vasquez (Isabel) and Joe M. Vasquez (Maria).
She leaves behind four beautiful grandchildren, Kristen Latrelle Powell, Devon Alexander Urbano, Alexa Nicole Deleon and Logan James Deleon. And her beloved chihuahua, Chico.
Pallbearers will be Raul Ureste, Jr, Daniel Ureste, Devon Ubano, Logan Deleon, Frank Weisse and Tracy Vasquez.
Honorary pallbearers are Domingo Vasquez, John Vasquez and Joe Vasquez.
Visitation will begin Friday, October 24, 2025, at 5pm until 7pm at Stricklands Funeral Home in Somerville, Tx. Her home-going celebration will be on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11am at First Pentecostal Church in Brenham, TX.
Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Somerville.
A meal in her honor will follow at First Pentecostal Church Dining hall at 2pm in Brenham.
