John Van Ert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel - Anderson on Mar. 5, 2026.
My precious, darling, handsome husband died yesterday March 2, 2026.

We were married 44 years, 10 month's, his battle with Alzheimer's is over, his illness was 5 years of pain, frustration and confusion, the battle is over, he is reunited with his parents, his brothers and sisters and his wonderful son John Jr, and precious granddaughters Jordan, and CaSondra, and he is also reunited with his first wife Jean. He kept a list of all his friends and coworkers that passed before him, I will be adding his name.

John loved and treasured his family, Michael in Canada, Tim in Oregon, Steve in Redding, Doug in Oregon, his daughters Lezlie in Redding, Joanne in Redding, Theresa in Washington, Logan in West Virginia, Craig in Anderson, Cody in Cottonwood, Diana in Anderson and stepson David in West Virginia. He also had 12 children, 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. John loved and cherished his 3 foster daughters, Rhoda in Washington, Celia in Redding, and Tarin in Florida.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3141 St Stephens Dr, Anderson, Ca, a reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors, Haven Humane Society, or Marthas Ministry at Sacred Heart Church.

We will miss his strength, courage, and his devotion to God and country, til we meet in again, rest in peace.

Yesterday

One of my favorite memories was when dad took me cat fishing. Just he and I which was really special. He taught me all kinds of things that I still love to this day, especially regarding horses, riding and taking care of them. I will miss you and always love you. Theresa
