John M. Viscardi, 88, of East Petersburg left this earth to be with our Lord on March 12, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, NY, John was married to his wife, Dee, for 42 years. John served as an Aviation Machinist in the U.S. Navy for 3 years and a Lieutenant in the New York City Fire Department for 23 years. After retiring in 1984, he moved to Lancaster with his family and worked as a guidance counselor for the Church of the Brethren in Manheim. John was a devoted member of Saint John Neumann Catholic Church and was a Charter Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12532 and 4th Degree Knight in the Santa Maria Assembly. Additionally, John was an active member of the Lancaster Italian Cultural Society.
John was a loving and supportive figure in his family’s lives. He never hesitated to help those he cared about and would move mountains to support them however he could. Even though he was headstrong, he lived a life full of laughter and joy, and we will dearly miss his warm smile and relentless sense of humor.
John is survived by his wife, Dee; children Tony (Wendy), Tom (Stacey), Tracey (Mike), and Scott; grandchildren Anthony, Jordon, Victoria (Elijah), Alesha, Thomas, Dominick, Peyton, Noah, Rebecca (Adam), Eliza, Gabriel, Amanda, and Olivia; and five great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his children John, Angela, and Lisa, and sister MaryAnn.
