John Edward Vogel , 77, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away Thursday January 15, 2026.
Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Thompson Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth. The family invite friends to join them at a reception following the service.
Private interment at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
He was born in El Paso, Texas on June 6,1948 to James and Dorthy Vogel. John graduated from Eastwood High school where he played on both the football and basketball teams.
He proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a Fire Control Technician 2nd class, on the Stonewall Jackson balistic missle submarine. He was honorably discharged after 6 years.
He married the love of his life, Barbara Vogel on Febuary 28, 1974 in El Paso.
John began work at IBM in 1979 as a Customer Service Engineer. He worked there until becoming the founder and President of North Texas Computers. A position he held until retirement.
He enjoyed creating art and playing tennis but, his true passion was in playing golf.
John is preceded in death by his father, James Carl Vogel, mother, Dorthy Vogel, and brother, James Dana Vogel.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Vogel; his sons, Matthew and daughter-in-law Ryoko, Mark and daughter-in-law Nichol, and Robert and daughter-in-law Amy; and grandchildren, Miko, Kai, Parker and Cooper; and his brother, William.
