John Thomas Walker passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2025.
Beloved husband and best friend of Charlotte Walker.
Cherished and loving son of the late John and Dorothy Walker.
Loving brother of Sandra R. (Gary) Clark.
Fond brother-in-law of Carolyn (the late Roderick) Raby and Norman (Mary Lou) Kendys, Howard (Catherine) Kendys,
Dear uncle of Julie (Jeffrey) Strom, Joseph Lopez (partner Jeannie), Ramiro (Tiffany) Lopez, Kevin Kendys, Christopher (Melinda) Kendys, Brian (Kaitlin) Kendys, Jayme L. (Randall E.) Spitzer, the late John R. Barr (2007) Kelly Cominsky, and great uncle of Matthew and Mark Spitzer, Alison Barr, Zoe, Bradley, Dylan, Everly, Lillian, Adalyn, Camilla, Merrick, Vernon, Killian and Keira.
He served in the army in Vietnam and throughout his life he volunteered to help veterans. He wanted God to bless all the unsung heroes who proudly served. He received the Army Commendation Medal during his military service. He was known in the army as having unrelenting loyalty, initiative, perseverance which brought him wide acclaim and inspired others to strive for maximum achievement. John and Charlotte have been together almost sixty years and married 56 years. Charlotte describes John as the "Best Husband in The World'. He made their time together full of surprises, adventure and fun even through hard times. John enjoyed his life and expressed he never had any regrets. If he had to live his life over, he wouldn't have changed a thing. Charlotte mirrors those same feelings about their life together. Even during life's challenges, John and Char cherished every moment of their time together. Char expressed that even toward the end of his life, his heart was the sweetest heart anyone could have known. She described him as her forever "Superhero."
Visitation Friday, July 18th, from 9:30am until time of service 11:00am at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home

Interment and Military Honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery
20953 W. Hoff Rd. Elwood, IL. 60421, 1:00pm.
