John H. Warren Jr.

John H. Warren Jr. was born to the late Stella Posey Warren and John Henry Warren on September 16th, 1937, in Chester, PA.
John received his education in Chichester school district and graduated in June 1956. While in high school he excelled in sports playing basketball and baseball. John joined the United States Army in 1960, and he enjoyed time spent traveling countries in Europe. He received an honorable discharge in 1963.
He met, fell in love, and married Thelma Briscoe on August 28th, 1965. From this union two daughters were born Frances Lorae and Deann Reneé. He was employed at Irvin's Mills and later worked at General Chemical, Marcus Hook division where he became a foreman. He retired in 1997 after 33 years.
John loved to exercise, and he continued playing baseball with many local teams, the Wildcats, Stardust Inn, the Warriors, and the Blue Chip Inn to name a few. He also bowled with the Chester bowling league and the Allied Chemical bowling league and was recognized for a high bowling score of 245.
Some of his leisure time was spent watching westerns, listening to jazz, and having fun with his granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Saving lives was important to him and he was proud to support the American Red Cross by donating blood on a routine basis. He also spent time supporting several food ministries.
John was an excellent cook and could burn in the kitchen. Some of his specialties were pork chops, homemade soup, and fried chicken. He was known for his Sunday dinners. He was the grill master. John was an avid photographer capturing special family reunions, weddings, graduations, and other events. Capturing family moments was his specialty. He was a jack of all trades who never hesitated to help anyone.
John leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years Thelma, two loving daughters Frances Lorae Warren-Jones (Earl) and Deann Reneé Warren (Tariq Asadi) Bonus Daughter Tammy Strand-Yarbray, one granddaughter Gabrielle Jenyce Jones, two sisters B Vivian Irving (Lewis) and Sarah Marshall, sisters-in-law Clara Marshall,and Yvonne Marshall, Brother in law Sylvanus Franklin (Anna) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
