John David Waters, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prentice and Reba Kicklighter Waters, grandparents, John Wesley and Floy Thompson Waters and Marvin and Maggie Mae Driggers Kicklighter and a nephew, Andrew Paul Waters.
John served in the United States Air Force and the National Guard. He worked 25 years in civil service at Ft. Stewart as a mechanic before retiring. His greatest enjoyment was hunting and fishing. He loved to be outdoors in nature, but he loved his family most of all.
John was a member of Birdford Baptist Church.
John is survived by, his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Blocker Waters; his son, Mark Wesley Waters (Amanda); his daughter, Sarah Ann Waters Murray; six grandchildren, Ashlyn Waters (Nicholas McCall), Laylah Murray, Addison Waters, Quinn Murray and Weston Waters; two sisters, Michaellynn Waters, Rebecca Waters; a brother, Paul Waters; a niece, Amanda Jones Little (Chris); two nephews, Michael Jones and Jordan Waters.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
