John Christopher Wayne Miller embarked on life's journey January 22, 1971. That day marked the beginning of a story filled with love, laughter, and the indomitable spirit of a man who lived by his own compass. His path was not always straight; but, like the most intrepid explorers, he charted his course through the trials and triumphs with a steadfast heart.
He was known by many names, Son, Dad, Uncle, Chris, Mackey, and Pineapple, but his ultimate favorite was Pop Pop.
To those who knew him, John was more than a name; he was a presence that left an indelible mark on their lives. His stubbornness was a testament to his passion; his sensitivity a bridge to the hearts he touched.
He was a son who honored his roots, a father whose love knew no bounds, and to his granddaughter, he was the morning's gentle light, a guiding star in the quiet dawn of her life.
John's legacy is not one of silence but of echoes - echoes of his laughter in the halls of memory, echoes of his love in the stories retold.
Though we may no longer see him, his spirit lingers in the spaces he filled, in the lives he changed, and in the love, he gave so freely. The world indeed, is different without him, but it is a world that has been irrevocably enriched by his passage through it.
As we gather to remember him, let us hold close the warmth of his memory; for in our hearts Pop Pop's journey continues.
John is survived by his parents, William and Reta (Eldringhoff) Miller; daughter, Iesha (Yamil) Gutierrez; granddaughter, Kalia Gutierrez; fiancée, Dawnella Schulz; and former wife, Leilani Rabang; hanai children, Aiyana Don Juan and Treyton Rabang; hanai grandchildren, Bubbz, Chente, and Max Don Juan; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Fly high with Grandpa and Koa. You will truly be missed.
We love you.
